Yeah, well. I’ll try to keep this one short and get it online as quickly as possible instead.

Much has happened in the last year, not much in regards to my building plans and wishes though. Family life had been keeping me super busy already, and then the whole Corona chaos happened right on top of that. While I really can’t complain personally, it still has been the wildest ride! And I feel like I have hardly had a moment to catch my breath for months now.

Anna is diggeringOkaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! So first things first: I am superbly proud of myself. I managed to get EVERYTHING done that I wanted to do and try with the mini digger. On my own, by myself. Now there’s a huge pile of ready-made cob sitting next to a big hole in the ground, and my sister’s stretch of lawn… can now be levelled and sown much more easily. ;-) But of course the whole thing took much longer than I thought. (when will I learn)

outdoor kitchen laid out roughly, view from back (oven goes on the palette)Heh, you know, there really is magic in “just starting somewhere”. Ever since I’ve decided to get going and build the outdoor kitchen with the mobile cob oven trick this summer and autumn (read: right about NOW), things have begun to fall into place very neatly and in the most amazing ways. To the point where I’ve actually rented a mini digger for TOMORROW! Anyway, I’m keeping this post sticky and will update it as things progress.

Well hello blog, how have you been? I have been so frustrated. I haven’t really written much about it here, but I was planning to build a smallish outdoor kitchen – basically just a cob oven combined with a garden bar and a roof on top – both as a test object and as an actual building made with cob that people could look at and actually touch. However, the authorities asked me to run the full building permit gamut, and they wouldn’t budge.

People sitting outside in the sun togetherA short note only today so I get back into blogging: On Saturday I got to talk with interesting people about living in an intentional community. And I noticed that not everybody seems to be talking about the same thing here.

me and my newest love!I deliberately did absolutely no planting this year, so all I did in the garden was dump stuff on the compost heap and taming the grassy jungle – after learning to use a scythe, and getting one. :-) But not doing much yielded some unexpected results!

the finished wallAt the end of August, we spent a day or two setting up a project wall for the house. Not perfect but perfectly usable, so here’s the story.

Our first tiny pizza...In May I told you about my second attempt at building a pizza oven last year, and with roughly the same amount of delay, here’s the follow up story about our first time actually using it at the end of June. Spoiler: It worked alright and made lovely pizza! ;-)

closeup of the wash basin (calls to be touched and caressed, doesn’t it?)I spent two days in Frankfurt (Main) on an absolutely wonderful and VERY informative tadelakt course! I’ve been in love with the material for quite some years, but now we’re getting married ;-) plus I found so much inspiration and I have SO many new ideas!

Short-ish post where I’m mostly thinking aloud, about what kind of look I like and also what I don’t, and about our surroundings in this village.
